Therapeutic Shoe Fitting
A course may be added in any area of Texas, if there is a minimum of 10 attendees.

WHAT DO THESE TEXAS COURSES INCLUDE?
Shoe Fitting Course (8 hours):
This course is a GREAT overview and training for all aspects of shoe fitting:
- General training & fitting techniques for therapeutic/diabetic shoes & non-custom inserts
- Overview of anatomy, implementation of treatment plan, follow-up tips & coding
- Resource info for indigent patient support from TPMF
**This course offers 8 hours of Category 1 Continuing Education Credit for CPeds, Cfts & podiatric assistant PMAC.
*If you are going on to sit for the national CFTS exam, you must complete 16 hours = 8 hours in class & additional 8 hrs online offered for shoe fitting.
WHO CAN TAKE THE COURSE?
The course is open to ALL health care staff including DPM, DME & Pharmacy professionals, regardless of experience.

WHAT ELSE WILL I HAVE TO DO TO BECOME A CERTIFIED THERAPEUTIC SHOE FITTER?
CFTS is a NATIONAL certification and the scope of practice varies state to state. Verify regulations with your state DME boards. The Shoe fitter course (if 16 hours completed) is approved to meet the 16 hour requirement for training and is ONE STEP to meeting the requirements. Visit www.abcop.org for details.
